Peruvian Woman Waiting for the Bus

This was painted from a very poor quality photograph we took through a moving bus window. The woman was very old and was dressed in a large dark blanket but her hat was spectacular. Many times on the bus we would see the locals carrying their good hat in a bag, to be worn when they got to town or the market. The women also had a dark colored overskirt that covered their beautiful colored skirts and they often removed the overskirt once they were aboard the bus.
